Welcome to UCSF Children's Hospital. This
patient guide includes information about admissions,
appointments,
billing, clinics,
health
insurance, medical records, patient
rooms, preparing
your child for surgery and visiting
hours.
Here, we tailor our medical care to the developing
minds and bodies of children and offer programs especially
designed to support young patients and their families. We
realize that hospitals sometimes can seem overwhelming,
especially when you or your child is ill. We are dedicated to providing what we call
family centered care,
providing the highest quality medical care available and making your visit with us
as comfortable as possible.
Our 180-bed hospital — one of the nation's leading children's hospitals, according to U.S. News & World Report
— provides services customized for young patients, such as:
- Child Life to help children
and their families adjust to hospitalization and make their stay as positive as possible
- Compass Care, comprehensive palliative care for children with chronic life-threatening
conditions as well as those who need end-of-life care
- Social workers, who are
trained in the needs of children and their families
For your convenience, we offer an online Gift Shop that delivers balloons,
books, flowers, toys and other merchanidse to our hospital patients and staff.
